Calor Classic, Calor Compact and Royal Classic portable heaters bought after 1st August 2010 should be immediately switched off and returned to the point of purchase. The affected heaters were sold through Calor Centres and other independent retailers.

The malfunction in Calor Classic, Calor Compact and Royal Classic gas heaters purchased after the 1 August 2010 could lead to the heaters emitting carbon monoxide marginally above the allowed levels.

Name of Product: Lithium-ion Battery Packs used in HP and Compaq Notebook Computers.

On the 26th May 2011, Hewlett-Packard (“HP”) announced a further expansion to a voluntary recall originally announced in May 2009. Details of the expansion can be found by following the Trading Standard Institute link below.

The recalled lithium-ion batteries can overheat and rupture, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers.

Consumers should immediately remove the battery from their notebook computer if their battery is included in this recall. Consumers who had previously checked their batteries and were informed they were not included in previous announcements are urged to check again. Consumers with recalled batteries will receive a free replacement battery. After removing the recalled battery from their notebook computer, consumers may use the AC adapter to power the computer until a replacement battery arrives.

The recall is limited to this specific date code. To date, the company has no knowledge of any safety incidents associated with products already in circulation, but is taking this step as a precautionary measure.
